KP&I have appointed Mr. Lee, Kyung Jae, the CEO / Chairman of Chang Myung Shipping, as the new Chairman of the Club.
On 26th February 2013, The Board of the Club determined at its 48th Board Meeting to appoint Mr. Lee Kyung Jae, the CEO / Chairman of Chang Myung Shipping, as the new Chairman of the Club.
Mr. Lee started his career in the Korean Marine area by being a officer in Korea Shipping Corp., Ltd after graduation of Korea Maritime University. Following a position in Hansem Int’l Chartering Broker and Boyang Shipping, he founded Chang Myung Shippng in 1989.
During about 24 years, by virtue of his substantial contribution, Chang Myung Shipping becomes one of the major shipping companies in Korea. Also, he has contributed to the development of Korean shipping industry as being a vice Chairman of Korea Logistics Research Association and vice president of Sea Explorers of Korea.
Mr. Lee will be responsible for the second leap for new decade of the Club, currently with the entry of 944 vessels, 18.19 million gt and annual premium income amounted to USD 31.43m since the establishment in 2000.
Furthermore, at this Board Meeting, Boarders approved the income statement for 2012, annual budget for 2013 and the proposal of new BOD in the Club etc.
The Club announced that they achieved KRW 72 bil as net profit for 2012py and lifted its free reserve to KRW 32.1bil accumulating the same amount.
The new BOD is as follows; MC Seo of Namsung Shipping, DY Yook of Hanjin Shipping, NY Lee of Hyundai Merchant Marine(HMM), TK Kim of Heung-A Shipping, HB Bae of CJ Korea Express, YJ Moon of STX PanOcean and SD Hong of Hanaro Shipping.
Additionally, the term of JH Lee, Advisor of the Club was determined to be extended. He plays a role for supporting marketing & cooperation of administration.
